We do this by leveraging our team’s design engineering and application expertise to help industrial OEM instrument companies advance their product development programs, covering everything from laser metal 3D printing machines used to create rocket engine parts, to augmented reality viewers for industrial visualization applications. With our proven new product development process, and collaborative partnership model, our team has successfully supported customers with innovative solutions that solve complex optical instrument design challenges and delivered optical assemblies for several fully commercialized machine tool platforms and instruments used to create and inspect to the highest quality levels new products across myriad end applications and uses, becoming a valued partner to OEM instrument companies around the world.
Over the last decade, industrial markets have experienced a new revolution in product manufacturing due to the growth in factory automation. Sensing technology advancements, along with robotics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, are at the heart of this sea change. These advances in optics and photonics imaging have led to an explosion of new applications for optical technologies from agriculture and food production quality control to high-speed machine vision imaging of production lines. The development of new laser-based machines allows for industrial-scale additive manufacturing of complex metal parts and high power laser material processing; this supports new applications across global markets in the automotive, semiconductor, medical, aerospace, petrochemical, and agriculture industries.
For this to happen, engineers need suitable optics and optical sub-systems to power their instruments, imaging platforms, and inspection tools and enable the inspection of manufactured goods with high precision and high accuracy, both spatially and chemically, using Raman or NIR spectroscopy.
